Yin Yoga is a passive form of yoga that targets the ligaments, bones, and joints of the body, especially the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine. Postures are held anywhere from one to twenty minutes to promote deep release and letting go in the target area. Sound meditation adds a layer that enhances the practice and creates a uniquely sublime experience with long lasting effects.
Sound Meditation is a form of focused awareness that has mental and physical health benefits in improving mood and reducing stress. Rhythm in particular can provide physical pain relief and a reduction of tension and anxiety. The facilitator uses a variety of drums, chimes, singing bowls, and other instruments to create a calming and healing journey as the participant lies or sits in a comfortable position and receives.
